PDP Youths Decamp To APC In Lagos Mainland

As the 2019 general elections draw near, some youths in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos Mainland Local Government area have decamped to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The lawmaker representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency in the  House of Representatives, Hon. Olajide Jimoh who received the decampees into the progressives party, described the decision as a positive development.

According to him, the PDP will no longer exist in our constituency before the 2019 general elections.

“This time, we are going to defeat the PDP permanently in Lagos Mainland. They have scattered, we would rescue them and remould them for a positive change in our constituency.

“Nobody is useless, everybody is useful in our party, All Progressives Congress. As Olakunle Onibudo and his group felt the APC is a new home, we should all work  together in unity with our brooms to finally sweep the PDP away in Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency.

“I congratulate you for joining our party, and I believe joining our party would lead to more progress and  greater success,” he added.

While eulogising the leaders of the party, the lawmaker said that the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been the pillar of democracy in Nigeria and in Lagos State.

He stressed that the progress that is being experienced in Lagos State was initiated by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu through his love, genuineness and having the interest of the people at heart.

“We appreciate God for giving us a visionary, patriotic and committed leader, who has done excellently in harmonising the party in Nigeria and maintaining the progress we are enjoying. Definitely, we are moving forward gradually and the success stories continues.

“In the last wards and local governments congresses of the APC that held all over the country, we did not record any serious crisis in Lagos State in particular.

“Therefore, we must support our performing governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, the Senator representing Lagos Central, Chief (Mrs) Oluremi Tinubu and all our house of assembly members to return to office in 2019 to continue their good works for the state,” he said.

Olakunle Onibudo aka Shina, who led members of his group to the APC in Ward F Lagos Mainland Local Government, Ebute Metta, was full of joy at the event.

While speaking, Onibudo said that the decision of his group to dump their PDP was based on their conviction that the APC has brought positive changes to Lagos State and Lagos Mainland.

He added that they decamped to support the legacy of the lawmaker representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

“Our decision is to support the party in Lagos State and in our local government so that they can continue the change agenda. Also, we want to support Hon. Olajide Jimoh, who is our lawmaker, for a second term because we have seen his laudable achievements,” he said.
