Apollo Community Protest Over Poor Electricity Supply, As Reps Member, Jimoh Intervenes

A lawmaker representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency, Hon Olajide Jimoh has assured Apollo community in the makoko area of Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on the speedy provision of a new transformer to enable constant electricity supply.

He disclosed this on Monday in his constituency office, when hundreds of youths made a peaceful protest to register their grievances against lack of electricity supply in their area for the past five years.

The protesters carried placards with inscriptions such as ‘5 Years in Darkness’ ‘ No light, no vote, among others.

Jimoh clarified to the protesters that he would only ensure a swift intervention on the delivery of a transformer to the community, adding that light would be restored.

However, he urged them to vote massively for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2019 general elections.

Responding, Aladetan Adekulujo, who spoke on behalf of the protesters said the lawmaker should help the community out of total darkness for them to enjoy the dividend of democracy in Lagos State.
