ASUU Strike: Lecturers Walkout On FG Delegations

ASUU Executive Council during its meeting at FUTA before declaring a nationwide strike

The leadership of the Academic Staff Union Universities, ASUU has staged a walkout from the re-conciliatory meeting summoned by the Federal Government over the ongoing strike by the union.

The president of ASUU, Prof Biodun Ogunyemi who led the delegation declined to speak to newsmen when he was approached.

ASUU has on the 4th of last month embarked on nationwide industrial action over what it called the non-implementation of 2009 agreement by the Federal Government.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Labour & Employment, Dr Chris Ngige said the Federal Government would do all it can to resolved the issues for the strike to be call off before Christmas celebration.
