The Code of Conduct Tribunal has ordered the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria Justice Walter Onnoghen to open his defense against his alleged False Assets Declaration charge.
This followed the dismissal by the tribunal of a no case submission filed by justice Onnoghen
In a ruling Tribunal Chairman, Danladi Umar, while dismissing the no case submission said the prosecution has provided sufficient evidence to establish a prima facie case against the defendant.
Justice Danladi also stated that the confessional written statement made by Justice Onnoghen was sufficient enough to justify the tribunal’s decision.
The case was adjourned till next Monday for justice Onnoghen to open his defense.
