EFCC Staffs Drags Acting Chairman Magu To Senate Over Corruption

Some Staff of Nigeria anti-graft body, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have written the Nigeria Senate over what they described as ‘lack of transparency and competency in the commission. The reflector Newspapers has learned.

The petition partly reads “Note that the National Assembly to approve all government agencies’ spending and appropriation. The Acting Chairman has been misappropriation the commission’s money and diverting same contrary to the Appropriation Act,” 

“The employees also accused Mr Magu of embezzling money by deliberately choosing to train new recruit at Nigeria Defence Academy “contrary to the Commission’s standing regulation.”

“Core staff are being denied promotion and deliberately underdeveloped and “reduced to nothing.””

 “Mr Bashir Bello, a fellow chartered accountant in the accounting department, who has been due for promotion to Directorate Level is being victimised and reduced to nothing. Because of the Acting. Chairman does not want any core staff to develop.”

 “See the case of former head of Human Resource Unit, former head of General Services, former head of SCUML, former Commandant of Academy and former head of SARU.

“These are pioneer staffs of the Commission, who have been trained with so much resource. These people can be called as witnesses to testify this case,” the eight-page petition states.
