Everton 2-5 Arsenal: Gunners Beat Toffees In First Away Victory

Five different scorers struck for the visitors as Arsenal overwhelmed 10-man Everton 5-2.

Everton took the lead through Wayne Rooney on 12 minutes.

After Granit Xhaka was dispossessed by Idrissa Gueye, Rooney fired past Petr Cech, 15 years and three days after his first ever PL goal, against Arsenal.

But five minutes before the interval Jordan Pickford parried Xhaka’s shot into the path of Nacho Monreal, who levelled.

Alexis Sanchez picked out Ozil to head Arsenal into a 53rd-minute lead.

And, after Gueye was sent off for a second bookable offence, Arsenal took advantage.

Ozil teed up Alexandre Lacazette for his fifth goal of the campaign and Aaron Ramsey made it 4-1 on 90 minutes.

A mix-up between Cech and Monreal allowed Oumar Niasse to score in added time, before Sanchez completed the goal flurry.

Arsenal move to fifth, while Everton have slipped into the bottom three.
