For allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter, a 40-year-old bricklayer, Adebusuyi Akinola, has been remanded in Olokuta prison custody.
The accused person who was brought before Magistrate O.A. Olomiluwa, by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, is facing a one count charge of raping his daughter.
The defendant was said to have committed the offence at Number 36, Ajegunle street, behind Lao Filling Station, NEPA in Akure Magisterial District, on June 30, 2018.
According to the prosecution, the offence committed is contrary to and punishable under Sections 357 and 358 of the Criminal Code Law of Ondo State.
The plea of the defendant, who was represented by Barrister G.O Omoedu, was not taken.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps prosecutor, Ebriku David told the court that the 17-year-old girl (names withheld) came to their office to lodge the complaint.
He told the court that the girl told them that her father and mother have divorced each other about ten years ago and she was living with her father after the death of her mother.
He further explained that, her father had been having sexual intercourse with her since when she was 13-years- old till date.
He told the court that the girl said whenever her father wanted to have sex with her, he used to threaten her that if she tells anybody, she would be assassinated.
In her ruling, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs O.A. Olomiluwa, ordered the remand of the defendant in Olokuta prison custody.
She adjourned the case till October 30, 2018.
