Kano Assembly Vows To Continues Ganduje’s Investigation

The chairman of the seven men Adhoc Committee, Ahaji Baffa Babba Danagundi constituted by the Kano state house of assembly to investigate the alleged bribe allegation on Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, says his committee would continue with investigation on the alleged matter.

A non-governmental organization filed a petition before the Kano state high court last Monday seeking the court to stop the committee from counting with the alleged bribery allegations.

He said the committee received a letter from a Kano high court to stop the investigation.

According to the Chairman, the court took the decision as a result of a complaint filed by a non-governmental organization named lawyers for sustainable democracy in Nigeria urging the court to stop the committee from conducting the investigation as it has no constitutional barking.

He maintained that section 128 and 129 of the federal republic of Nigeria has Stated clearly that state assemblies have the mandate to investigate on such issues.

Ahaji Danagundi said the committee would respect the rule of law and will appear before the Kano high court on Monday to acquaint proper interpretation of maintaining status
