Chieftains of the Party at a media Conference in Asaba led by Chief Onome Ojo however apologized to Chief Ibori over the Publication which Painted him greedy and Selfish leader, adding that those behind the Publication were acting on Figment of imagination.
Recall that the leadership of the Oghareki Traditional Council of Chiefs had Written a strong worded and emotion ladden open letter to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa alleging that Oghareki Community one of the two Sub Clans in Oghara Kingdom had been Marginalized and treated as a Slave in the areas of elective and Appointments including distribution of government Projects Since 1998.
The letter Jointly signed by the Chairman,/ Spokesman of the Council, ( Unugborogodo),. Chief Destiny Okwe, Including thirteen others, Specifically accused Ibori of Shortchanging the Community, treating its Indigenes as Second Class Citizens and Conniving with the Former Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan to Cede a Substantial Part of their Land to the Itsekiris.
But in a strong reaction, Chief Ojo denounced the Publication and dissociated Members of the Party from the Publication they described as Wicked and ill- Motivated, adding”Every Community has an inalienable right to Self determination, that the Fundamental human rights we don’t wish to Contend, but Strongly believe that Politics and tradition are two separate entities that must not be unequally yoked’,
Chief Ojo said that the allocation of elective and appointments, is Purely a Political Party affairs with no Communal or traditional Colourations as it was expected that if for any reason a Community feels Marginalized, then it behoves the Political Class to draw attention to Such Perceived neglect instead of Maligning the national Political leader, Chief James Ibori.
“Dragging Chief Ibori Into traditional Issues is rather Self Serving and Smacks of how low some People can go to smear the hard earned reputation of Others for Whatever reasons Chief Ibori is one of the greatest Political assets God gave us in Ethiope West and we Can’t stand Akimbo while his Character is being assassinated”, he said
